The Story Behind Truthkins
My name is Rick Dieterle (Dee-terl-lee) and this is my family - Charlie, Jax, and my beautiful wife, Lisa. Raising our boys with confidence and a strong sense of their intrinsic worth has always been important. This is the genesis of Truthkins.
At Truthkins, we believe every child is created by God with purpose, value, and extraordinary potential. We also know childhood can feel overwhelming... big feelings, confusing emotions, moments of insecurity, jealousy, anger, sadness, or fear. As parents, we want to guide our kids through all of it… but sometimes the right words are hard to find.
Truthkins was created to make that easier.
Our Mission
Truthkins helps children understand their emotions through the lens of Biblical truth in a way that’s playful, comforting, and instantly relatable. Each nested plush pair shows the contrast between a common feeling and the Christ-centered truth that transforms it. Kids don’t just hear the lesson - they hold it, see it, and feel it.
Because when truth becomes tangible, it becomes memorable.
Where It All Started
As a parent and volunteer at my kid's schools, I see firsthand how kids struggle to make sense of what they’re feeling. Like many of you, I also experience these feelings as a kid. I also saw how quickly a child’s confidence can grow when they understand who God says they are. That sparked the idea:
What if there was a way to teach faith, emotions, and identity through something every child loves... a plush toy?
What began as a simple idea has grown into a transformational tool used by families, Sunday schools, grandparents, and counselors who want to nurture emotional resilience through God’s Word.
